About The Davies Group, Publishers

We are an independent scholarly press, publishing books of interest to readers both within and outside of the academy.

Our goals are to publish, and keep in print, works by emerging and established scholars who strive to make, or have already made, significant contributions in their respective fields. We publish both original works and previously published works that have not been readily available. In order to insure that the works we publish are widely accessible we will utilize a wide variety of formats such as print, electronic, and on-demand technologies.

The fields in which we publish are those normally associated with the humanities and social sciences, and our authors occupy academic positions at international institutions of higher education. We seek books, monographs, collaborative volumes, edited collections comprised of both previously unpublished and published contributions, translations, and selected works that have been allowed to go out of print.

A number of our titles are positioned in one of the following series:

Contemporary European Cultural Studies – Series editors, Gianni Vattimo and Santiago Zabala.

Contexts and Consequences: New Studies in Religion and History – Series editors, Lisa Poirier and Jennifer Reid.

Critical Studies in the Humanities – Series editor, Victor E. Taylor.

Philosophical and Cultural Studies in Religion – Begun under the direction of Charles E. Winquist, and dedicated to his memory.

Our subsidiary, PenMark Press, publishes creative nonfiction—short form to book length—of a general nature from authors affiliated with institutions of higher learning.
